The mochi making provided the pupils a chance to work together to make mochi. From this experience, they have become closer and forged a closer relationship as the groups 'competed' to see which group can make the nicest mochi.
Jenesys stands for Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths.
It is a 35-billion yen youth exchange programme by the Japanese government, inviting about 6000 young people to Japan mainly from ASEAN, Australia, China, India and NZ) every year for 5 years.
This programme is expected to deepen mutual understanding among young people who will assume important roles in the next generation in each East Asian country.
